White City Shakers are a 7-piece string band echoing the golden era of southern Americana music, spanning blues, gospel and early rock ‘n’ roll, encapsulating the sound of the mighty Mississippi Delta with their extensive repertoire of original & traditional songs.
The Shakers bring an incredible energy to the stage whilst effortlessly maintaining tightly woven harmonies & proving that a traditional line-up of instruments can stand up to any electronic act when it comes to getting people up out of their seats. It’s a very participatory style of playing, whether through call & response or the power of gospel, audiences are found singing along at the top of their voices to this dustbowl stomping music.
Kaptin Barrett, BoomTown’s music programmer, comments on White City Shakers
I know their agent really well, she looks after a few bands who play regularly at the festival. She pitched them to me as she knew they’d be perfect for our Rusty Spurs stage.
Rusty Spurs stage is in the heart of the Wild West lies the rootin-est, tootin-est bunch of Bluegrass, Blues, Country, Scrumpy & Western, American, Cow-Punk and Jug bands this side of The Alamo.
