Other Stage opener for Glastonbury Festival 2016

James will open Glastonbury Festival 2016, frontman Tim Booth has told BBC 5 live.

Tim revealed they will open the second stage in an interview on BBC 5 live.

“We’re going to cut the ribbon and smash the champagne on the ship.”

The band will be the first act on the Other Stage at 11am on Friday 24 June. Now a regular slot taken up by secret / special guests, previous years have seen Kaiser Chiefs and The Charlatans

Muse will top the pyramid on Friday. Adele has been confirmed as the Saturday night headliner. Coldplay will head the Pyramid Stage bill on Sunday, June 26th, while Jeff Lynn’s ELO will play the legendary tea time slot on Sunday.

Glastonbury has announced that PJ Harvey will be returning to the festival for the first time since 2004, playing the Other Stage on Sunday.

We also expect to see ZZ Top, LCD Soundsystem, Foals, Mystery Jets and The Last Shadow Puppets on the line up. Bring Me The Horizon and New Order are expected to headline the Other Stage
