More acts have been announced for this summer’s Glastonbury Festival. Acts added include Tame Impala, Editors, Tom Odell, Frightened Rabbit, Squeeze,Mystery Jets, Jagwa Ma, White Denim, Damon Albarn, Catfish and the Bottlemen + many more.
The festival will take place from Wed 22nd June to Sun 26th June 2016.
Expect around 2,000 performances at over 100 venues/areas/stages including music, theatre, circus, poetry, cabaret, etc.
She Drew The Gunwere crowned the winners of Glastonbury Festival’s 2016 Emerging Talent Competition, which is supported by PRS for Music and the PRS for Music Foundation. The band wins a slot on one of the Festival’s main stages, plus a £5,000 Talent Development prize from the PRS Foundation.With second place going to Glasgow’s R&B pop act Bossy Love, with third place going to London-based folk singer Hattie Whitehead.
Michael Eavis also revealed that all eight acts that competed in the Emerging Talent Competition, will be given slots at this year’s Festival.
Previously announced Pyramid headliners are:
Muse – headlining the Friday night of this year’s Festival. This will be the band’s third Pyramid headline appearance. They will also become the first act to top the bill on all three nights, after headlining Sunday in 2004 and Saturday in 2010.
Coldplay – the first headline act to be confirmed for Glastonbury Festival 2016. They will top the Pyramid Stage bill on Sunday.
Jeff Lynne’s ELO have been announced for the Sunday afternoon “legends” lot, which in recent years has been filled by Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie and Kenny Rogers.
Other previously announced acts are The Last Shadow Puppets, Ellie Goulding,Sigur Ros, Foals, PJ Harvey, Beck, Of Monsters and Men, LCD Soundsystem, ZZ Top, Disclosure, New Order, The Lumineers, Annie Mac + many more
