After sparking rumours on Sunday when sharing a photo of the UK and Europe, this morning Foo Fighters confirmed they’ll be headlining Portugal’s Nos Alive. They join Depeche Mode at the festival formerly known as Optimus Alive!, taking place in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, from Thursday 7th to Saturday 9th of July 2016.

Sharing an image of a passport and map to their social media channels, the band threw to their website where the festival details were stamped into a passport.

Frontman Dave Grohl broke his leg in Sweden in 2015, and there has felt like some unfinished business on the European festival circuit after cancelling a number of scheduled performances.

After the bands short hiatus this is the first of many European shows to be announced. The rock giants look likely to be topping the Pyramid stage on the Sunday night at Glastonbury Festival. We also expect more shows and festivals to be announced across Europe over the coming days, weeks and months.
