Boomtown Fair Announces Whistlers Green Line Up

Boomtown Fair is returning for its tenth-year celebrations over 9th – 12th August, at Matterley Estate, near Winchester, Hampshire.

After announcing Gorillaz as their first headliner for 2018 as a UK exclusive, the festival released their diverse line up with the likes of Die Antwoord, Limp Bizkit, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, Jimmy Cliff, Amadou & Mariam, The Selecter, Sleaford Mods, Enter Shikari, Billy Bragg, Skatalites, Maribou State, Omar Souleyman and more set to make an appearance.

Boomtown has established itself as one of Europe’s most creative and inspiring events on the festival scene. With its diverse lineups, crazy story-lines and immersing festival-goers within the narrative. The festival becomes a temporary city for 4 days a year, complete with nine districts sprawling across four areas and festival-goers become citizens of this creative landscape that reflects the current global society.

Whistlers Green is the first area to announce the full line up for the festival. vistas of the South Downs National Park, The area very much has a feeling of a festival within a festival, away from the hustle and bustle of the Boomtown madness. Whistlers Green offers up jazz, folk, funk and soul acoustic, headliners include Maribou State, Bilal, Jah Wobble and The Invaders of the Heart, plus many more including the sounds of some of the leading female voices in jazz right now including Zara Macfarlane and Sampa the Great.

Truly a space for all generations, Whisters Green also houses the endless discoveries Kidztown has to offer; hands on craft and circus workshops, storytelling, puppetry, comedy and face painting, through to the skate ramp, bouncy castle and Forest School.

In addition to the activities and workshops on offer in Kidztown, there is a vast array of workshops that extends to adults too, including blacksmithing, jewellery making, silversmithing, chainsaw carving, willow weaving, chocolate making and rubber bike belt workshops.  The healing gardens are a stone’s throw away with massage, aromatherapy, yoga, mediation and star gazing to name just few alternative pastimes to indulge in.
