AEG Live, the promoters behind The O2 arena and British Summer Time festival in London’s Hyde Park, is planning to launch a huge new festival at Knebworth Park next summer.
Rumour has it The Rolling Stones are being lined up as a headliner for a new multi-day event. The event will likely fill a void created by Glastonbury’s fallow year.
The promoters are currently producing the Stones’ upcoming No Filter European tour. The band currently have no UK shows announced for their current tour, but the band has tweeted that they hope to do UK shows in 2018.
The 125,000-capacity Hertfordshire venue last saw an event hosted there with Sonisphere festival in 2014. Knebworth has played host to some of the UK’s legendary outdoor gigs with Oasis, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and many more. The most recent capacity for festivals at Knebworth has been around 50,000.
