Organisers of Glastonbury Festival have applied for a licence to host two concerts over two days at Worth Farm, Pilton.

Details on the licence application state the event will take place on a Friday and Saturday. The site will be open between 2pm – 12am, live music between 4pm – 11pm and alcohol served 2pm – 11pm. The concerts will be performed on the Pyramid Stage.

This will not be a full-scale Glastonbury Festival event, the capacity of the concerts will be 49,999 (normal Glastonbury Festival capacity – 210,000). The capacity includes traders, artists, staff and crew.

Emily Eavis explained that a concert could take place during the same dates that are traditionally used for Glastonbury’s Pilton Party, which is likely to be 3rd – 4th September 2021. Emily is the organiser of Glastonbury Festival alongside her father Michael Eavis and husband Nick Dewey. Emily and Nick recently registered a new company called Holy Cow Events, but the new licence application has been made by Glastonbury Festival Events Ltd.

Emily also went on to say they have made an application ‘for a family-friendly (ie not for partying!) campsite at the farm’ for this summer. The concerts and campsite will follow any relevant “Covid secure” measures in accordance with Government guidelines. The dates will be confirmed at least 120 days before the event.
